Happy Jour d’la Libéthâtion!
68 years ago today, my little island along with the others in the Channel were liberated from the German occupying forces during the Second World War.
I’m gutted I’m not at home for Liberation Day, but I’m going to enjoy the day in Manchester anyway!

Jersey surnames/place names are like this.
Le Quesne? That’s pronounced Le Cane.
St. Ouen? Saint One.
Ouaisne? Way-nay.
De Ste Croix? Deh Sant Kwah.
These two posts just cropped up on my news feed right in this order. I had to laugh.
Someone needs to tell google that Jersey is not French.
Since coming home, it keeps asking me if I want to use google.fr instead of .co.uk, and all the adverts on youtube are French.
I’m BRITISH, Jersey is BRITISH, we speak ENGLISH.
